BFSA elections

Dear BFSA members,

On behalf of the Nominating Committee, we are excited to announce that the BFSA will hold elections in December. As a member, you may nominate someone, or yourself, for any of the open positions. Nominations opened on Nov. 17 and close on Dec. 4. If you are nominating yourself, please include your name, job title, photo, brief biography, position (s), and campus affiliation. Please ensure that anyone you nominate is willing to fulfill the obligations of the position, which include attending monthly executive board meetings and representing the organization at Johns Hopkins and community meetings as required.

Note: The submitter must authenticate (sign in using JHED) to complete the nomination form.

All nominees must be financially current for a minimum of 30 days. Nominations Form; Nominations Form (APL Only).

The president and president-elect, recording secretary, treasurer, parliamentarian, faculty representative, communication director, membership director, chaplain, events director, caucus chair, and caucus representatives will serve a term of one and a half years, from Jan. 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. All executive board positions will be limited to two consecutive terms in the same office. The new executive board will be seated on Jan. 1, 2026.

In addition to the elections, the general membership will consider amendments to the constitution and bylaws. A separate email will be sent out next week with the constitution and bylaws recommendations for consideration during the respective caucus meetings on Thursday, Nov. 20. Please make sure you attend and give your feedback.

  • Nomination Form: Nominations open on Nov. 17 and close on Dec. 4

  • Bylaws dissemination: Release on Dec. 8
  • Elections: Dec. 15 to 19
  • Notification of results from the Co-Chairs of the Nominations and Elections Committee: Dec. 22
  • Start of new term for newly elected officers: Jan. 1
