Panel Discussion on Rare Disease Research

Please join us for the first session of the Rare Disease Researcher Interest Group seminar series, a panel discussion on rare disease research, on Friday, Oct. 10, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. via Zoom.

The Rare Disease Researcher Interest Group seminar series will bring together researchers from different fields to learn about and discuss rare disease research, regardless of experience level. Seminars will take place on the second Friday of each month from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.

In this first session, panelists will discuss rare disease research, resources available for rare disease research, and other information such as ICTR resources, the Maryland Rare Disease Advisory Council, and the NORD recognition of Johns Hopkins and the Kennedy Krieger Institute as a Rare Disease Center of Excellence.

Panelists include Ada Hamosh, professor, McKusick-Nathans Institute, Department of Genetic Medicine scientific director, OMIM Johns Hopkins University; Constance Smith-Hicks, neurologist and research Scientist, Kennedy Krieger Institute; and Daniel Ford, professor of medicine, director, ICTR, Johns Hopkins University.
