As part of the ongoing Bloomberg Steam Pipe Replacement project, crews will continue work to replace the steam pipes servicing the Bloomberg Building via the North Plant. The new steam service will be fed from the Athletic Center/Rec Center. This is a critical infrastructure upgrade necessary to maintain reliable steam service to the Bloomberg Building.
On Wednesday, Aug. 20, and Thursday, Aug. 21, a crane will be set up in front of the Newton White Athletic Center to deliver materials to the Athletic Center roof for this project. To reduce the impact during peak hours, the schedule will be as follows:
- Crane Setup: Begins each evening at 8 p.m.
- Lift Operations: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Restricted Access: Athletic Center lobby and corridor must remain vacant from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night
