As part of the MSEL Modernization project, a tower crane will be delivered and installed on campus over two consecutive days. The work is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m. (installation of the tower crane base) and Sunday, March 16, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. (installation of vertical sections and jib).
What to Expect:
- Flatbed trucks will deliver mobile erection crane and tower crane materials
- The E Gate Loop vehicular road will be closed for the duration of the work
- The ADA access ramp from Charles St. to Keyser Quad will be blocked
- The BLC Plaza stairway will be closed
Safety Measures:
- Signage will be in place to redirect pedestrian traffic
- Flaggers and spotters will ensure pedestrian safety
For handicapped access from Charles Street to Keyser Quad, construction personnel will escort individuals through the area, pausing work as needed. Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for travel through this area. Thank you in advance for your patience.
