Call for submissions: JHU SAIS Europe Integration Fund

Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Europe is announcing four different proposal opportunities under the Integration Fund initiative: Anderson Scholars, Joint Research Projects, Joint Events, and Staff Exchange. The application deadline Tuesday, Oct. 15, for the first round and Saturday, March 15, 2025, for the second round.

The fund initiative aims at fostering deeper integration and cooperation between SAIS Europe and the broader Johns Hopkins University community. This initiative is a cornerstone of SAIS commitment to the "One University" vision, encouraging cross-campus collaboration to enrich our academic and research landscapes.

The SAIS Europe Integration Fund has $600,000 in funding available, made possible by the generous Morag and James Anderson Vision 2030 initiative. It is all about building stronger ties between SAIS Europe, other SAIS campuses, and the wider Johns Hopkins University network, aimed at bringing us closer together to achieve shared academic goals.

In brief, the proposal opportunities include:

  • Anderson Scholars: This program seeks dynamic proposals from core faculty members interested in participating in teaching and scholarly exchange between SAIS Europe and counterparts across the JHU campuses, with a focus on one or two semester visits to SAIS Europe, and vice versa. Anderson Scholars will have the opportunity to teach courses related to international affairs, offer special lectures, and engage with the vibrant academic community across at SAIS Europe and across JHU.
  • Joint Research Projects: The fund will support proposals for joint research projects that involve collaboration between SAIS Europe faculty and members of the broader JHU community. The goal is to support research endeavors that bring together diverse perspectives and expertise.
  • Joint Events: The fund will support events that are organized in collaboration with SAIS Europe faculty and the wider JHU community. These events should aim to foster academic and cultural exchanges that contribute to our integrated academic excellence.
  • Staff Exchange: This initiative promotes the exchange of information and best practices among JHU administration members through extended visits. The focus is on enhancing the operational efficiency and service quality at SAIS Europe.

Proposals must be sent to sais.eu.integration@jhu.edu. For full details, including eligibility, duration, and funding, please see the proposal form online here.
