2023 IDIES poster competition: Call for entries

The Institute for Data-Intensive Engineering and Science (IDIES) is seeking poster submissions for the 2024 IDIES Annual Symposium.

The symposium details are as follows:

  • Thursday, Oct. 17, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Scott-Bates Commons l 3301 N Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21218
  • Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus

The poster session is open to members of the Greater Johns Hopkins community, including the university, hospital, health care, Space Telescope, APL, and Peabody. Posters should reflect the IDIES mission of furthering data-intensive and computationally intensive research and education. This year's poster session will be digital (i.e., registrants will be required to submit their poster files digitally prior to the event), but in-person attendance at the event is still required.

The Poster Madness tradition continues this year with two-minute lightning talks prior to the poster session. All poster registrants must present a lightning talk.

The deadline to submit a poster abstract is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11. The deadline to submit your final poster file is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

A panel of judges composed of IDIES members will select the Best Poster, the prize for which is a $100 Amazon gift card. To be eligible to win, a poster's first and presenting author must be a member or student member of IDIES. You may join IDIES at any time prior to the poster abstract submission deadline, 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to be considered for this award. The poster file itself must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

You must also register separately to attend the symposium.
