Community food scrap drop-off

The Office of Sustainability, in partnership with the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, resumed the community food scrap drop-off program on the Homewood and East Baltimore campuses for the start of the spring semester. Bring your fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grinds, tea bags, and more to the back side of Mudd Hall or to the entrance to CRB II. Both locations are accessible by foot, bike, and car.

Don't forget to scan QR codes on top of the bins to register your visits. If there is no liner in the bin, please do not throw any food scraps into the bin.

Food waste is a significant contributor to climate change if land-filled or incinerated, but when composted, food scraps enhance the soil and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers, which protects the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
