Space Telescope Science Institute hosts an in-person joint Youth for Astronomy and Engineering program, titled STEM Forum and Cosmic Visions student art exhibition, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. You are invited to join the event to learn about how we create stunning images and videos from telescope data, then hear from local student artists about how they are inspired by the telescope images. Talks will be followed by an opportunity to view the artwork created by the local students and engage in hands-on activities. Weather permitting, the night will close with a tour of the Offit Telescope. The program will be geared toward students in grades 4 through 12 (middle and high school youth), but all are welcome to attend.
The event is free to attend, but preregistration is required. Light refreshments will be provided during the art exhibition portion. For more information about the YAE program or about this upcoming event, email yae@stsci.edu.
