Need your help to advance AI speech processing

Researchers at the Center for Language and Speech Processing (CLSP) are seeking volunteers to help advance the future of AI speech processing! The researchers are collecting casual and spontaneous conversations to construct a database that will assist them in training expressive AI models for dialogue.

In each remote session, participants will be invited to have a recorded chat about various topics. Thanks to our participants' feedback and our observations, we've reached a new phase in our data collection study. Our findings indicate that more meaningful dialogues occur between individuals who know each other. With this in mind, we encourage you to invite a friend or someone you enjoy talking to, to participate in the study. By having more spontaneous conversations, we aim to gather better samples of real dialogue interactions. The conversations, facilitated through an app, are designed to be easygoing and relaxed, much like chatting on the phone. Each remote session includes a few minutes for participants to familiarize themselves with the app, a flexible duration for discussing the topic, and a feedback survey.

As a token of appreciation, a $5 Amazon gift card will be given to every participant for each complete hour of speech dedicated to the study. If you are interested in participating or have any questions, contact sssdata-project@jh.edu.
