Call for nominations: Diversity Recognition Awards

The Diversity Recognition Awards recognize outstanding accomplishments of faculty, staff, alumni, students, and groups whose demonstrable efforts foster greater appreciation and advancement of diversity and inclusion in the Johns Hopkins culture and environment.

All faculty, staff, and students at Johns Hopkins University, the Health System, and the Applied Physics Laboratory, except current members of the Diversity Leadership Council, are eligible to participate. Current DLC members and other diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) professionals are eligible to be nominated for the James Calvin Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Individuals may self-nominate or be nominated by any Johns Hopkins community member. Nominations should describe the nominee's commitment to the advancement of diversity, inclusion, or multiculturalism, as demonstrated by efforts and accomplishments.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Diversity Recognition Awards Selection Committee, which is composed of DLC members. Each nomination will be judged based on the criteria below:

Impact: Significant and positive changes within the nominee's social and/or professional sphere of influence.

Innovation: Creating value by applying new and unique ideas and processes.

Leadership: Influencing participation, inspiring action, and maximizing the efforts of creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable Johns Hopkins community.

Commitment: Intention, engagement, and focus to advancing DEI, even when faced with challenges.
