Explore music and dance at the Peabody Preparatory this summer! Whether you're a beginner, a hobbyist, or pursuing serious study, we have something for you.
From June 17 through Aug. 9, the Peabody Summer Session at our downtown Baltimore campus is open to students of all ages and skill levels. We offer weeklong specialty summer music and dance programs, private lessons in a range of instruments, and group classes. See the complete list of summer programs here.
Specialty Summer Programs offer a variety of classes in strings, piano, guitar, and dance, as well as cross-departmental offerings such as Baltimore BeatLab, a weeklong immersion for aspiring producers and beatmakers, and the Peabody Innovation and Music Academy, a combination of technical, creative, composition, and improvisational training alongside leadership, communication, and large ensemble skills.
Private lessons during the summer are offered in six- and eight-pack options to accommodate your summer travel plans. Available both in person and online, lessons for all instruments and voice are offered. You'll be matched with the perfect instructor to help you reach the next level in your training or get you started on an instrument you have always wanted to try.
Group classes run for six weeks and are available in the areas of dance, voice, strings, guitar, chamber music, music and dance for young children, musicianship, and music theory. Students in group classes learn important ensemble skills while being able to study with friends.
Programs tend to fill up early so sign up today! In addition, all full-time university faculty, staff, and their spouses and dependents are eligible for tuition remission on noncredit classes at the Preparatory; coverage percentage depends on whether instruction is private or in a group setting.
