SNF Agora Visiting Fellows Program now accepting applications

SNF Agora is now accepting applications for its 2024–25 Visiting Fellows Program. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 10.

The SNF Agora Visiting Fellows Program supports the institute's mission of strengthening global democracy  by  enabling  us to expand our reach and incorporate a broader range of people into our work. This program will identify and recruit a select cohort of fellows from diverse sectors, disciplines, backgrounds, and ideologies to join the institute to work with our permanent faculty, researchers, and students. Visiting fellows contribute to an academic community that is open and permeable—based at Johns Hopkins but reaching well beyond its walls.

SNF Agora Visiting Fellows come from academia, civil society, government, industry, media,  the performing arts,  and other fields. Projects typically run for one semester or less and could include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching a course or other training to students, the  wider JHU community, or  other publics
  • Authoring  a case study  for the SNF Agora Case Studies on Democracy program
  • Hosting a community of practice around a particular issue facing democracies
  • Partnering with SNF Agora Institute faculty  on research or other projects
  • Designing and developing  a conference, symposium,  performance,  or  other  public engagement
  • Developing other content or  strategic  opportunities for  the  institute
  • Offering  guest  lectures for student  groups,  SNF  Agora  and  JHU  faculty, or local publics
