IDIES announces 2023 Seed Funding recipients

The IDIES Seed Funding Initiative offers competitive awards of $25,000 to Johns Hopkins researchers for eligible research. The Seed Funding Initiative provided funding to the following data-intensive projects because they (a) involve areas relevant to IDIES and JHU institutional research priorities, (b) are multidisciplinary, and (c) build ideas and teams with good prospects for successful proposals to attract external research support by leveraging IDIES intellectual and physical infrastructure.

This year's IDIES Seed awardees are:

G. Caleb Alexander, MD
Harnessing Image Detection to Help Address the U.S. Opioid Epidemic: An Analysis of the Opioid Industry Documents Archive

Edward S. Chen, MD
Expanding the Clinical Capability and Scalability of Truly Remote Vital Sign Monitoring

Angelo Mele, PhD
Systemic Risk and Externalities in Software Dependency Networks

Corey Oses, MD
High-Entropy Anchors for High-Performance Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

Please join us in extending congratulations to IDIES' 2023 Seed Funding cohort. We'd also like to thank all other researchers who submitted proposals for consideration.
