We invite you to submit a proposal to present at the 19th annual Diversity and Inclusion Conference, hosted by the Johns Hopkins Diversity Leadership Council. We hope you will join leaders, faculty, students, community neighbors, alumni, and staff in examining critical questions related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
The Diversity and Inclusion Conference is an educational opportunity for the Johns Hopkins community to expand our shared knowledge and ability to advance the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The conference theme—Inside Out—reflects the importance of expanding both our individual and collective capacities to make sustainable local, regional, and global change for people still impacted negatively by inequitable systems. We invite proposals from internal and external expert scholars, practitioners, and community members on topics that emphasize breaking down barriers and building connections and collaborations across differences. Possible session topics could include cross-discipline collaborations, strategies to help translating research into social justice practice, community-academic partnerships, and strategies for allyship.
This year we are planning a return to an in-person conference with some options for virtual engagement.
Sessions are scheduled for 70 minutes. They should be research-based, interactive, and suitable for participants with a range of DEI knowledge and experience.
Presenters should ensure that their presentations are accessible and inclusive by invoking principles of universal design for learning and other accessibility strategies.
