Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry set for July 14 at Homewood

A Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry will be held on Thursday, July 14, in Levering Hall. Sign up for the Blood Drive in the Glass Pavilion from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and attend the Bone Marrow Registry in the Great Hall from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Johns Hopkins has partnered with the American Red Cross and There Goes My Hero to bring the Blood Drive/Bone Marrow Registry onsite.

Did you know?
Every year 17,500 people will need a bone marrow or stem cell transplant to cure their blood cancer or disorder. This includes diseases such as sickle cell anemia and multiple myeloma, which disproportionately affect minorities. Only 30% of patients are able to find a matching donor in their family. The rest rely on the 33 million registered donors.

Please join in the effort to increase and diversify the registry and encourage others to join our efforts on Thursday, July 14.

To schedule a donation for this Blood Drive and future ones, download the Red Cross Blood Donor app on the App Store or Google Play, or text BLOODAPP to 90999.
