Call for volunteers: Barclay Science & Engineering Expo

On Thursday, May 5, the Center for Educational Outreach is hosting a Science & Engineering Expo at Barclay Elementary/Middle School—a neighborhood school within walking distance of the Homewood campus. The free family event is offered as part of the Barclay Hopkins STEM Partnership and will bring Baltimore students from grades K-8 and their families together for a fun night of exploring the wonders of science and engineering.

Volunteers are needed to support the event in a variety of roles, such as monitoring registration and prize tables, facilitating hands-on STEM activities, supporting an egg drop challenge, and helping with setup and cleanup. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m., and volunteer shifts of different lengths are available between the hours of 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. No prior experience is necessary, and any Hopkins affiliate looking to engage with the community is encouraged to sign up to volunteer!

Interested volunteers can sign up online or on Hopkins Groups. Follow-up information will be sent to interested volunteers via email. Questions? Contact Amanda Valledor at amanda.valledor@jhu.edu.
