Arukah: Healing + Restoration

HSO is excited to bring you this co-commissioned work by Baltimore-based composer James Lee III. Arukah, which translates to "healing and restoration," embodies a focus that is as timely as ever.
This program will also feature winners of HSO's 2022 Concerto Competition.
Reinecke: Concerto for Flute, first movement featuring Yoyo Jiang (HSO Concerto Competition winner)
Prokofiev: Violin Concerto No. 2, first movement featuring Sofia Taylor (HSO Concerto Competition winner)
Franck: Symphonic Variations featuring Alan Mao (HSO Concerto Competition winner)
James Lee III: Arukah Symphony, co-commissioned by Hopkins Symphony Orchestra and Maryland Symphony Orchestra
The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. At 6:30 p.m., concertgoers are invited to a Q&A with composer James Lee III and music director Jed Gaylin.
