The GMaP Region 1 North Research Pilot Support Program is intended to enhance diversity and support career development in cancer or cancer-related disparities research. The goal of this program is to support pilot projects that lead to successful Diversity Research Supplements or F- or K-series CURE applications.
Eligible applicants must be:
- A trainee or early-stage investigator at an institution located within GMaP Region 1 North: DC, DE, KY, MD, ME, NH, VA, VT, WV;
- An individual from an underrepresented background as defined by the NIH: racial/ethnic minority (Black/African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander) or individual with disabilities;
- A person interested in developing a competitive Diversity Research Supplement or F- or K-series application.
Projects may be funded up to $10,000 with a project period of up to 12 months beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023. Applications are due May 2, 2022. To apply and for more information, visit NCI's Research Pilot Support application webpage.
