Odyssey: Spanish Introductory Level I

Brought to you by Odyssey

  • Feb. 17 to April 21
  • Thursday, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. ET

This class is intended as an introductory Spanish course for beginner language learners. Over this 10-week period, participants will learn to have basic conversations in Spanish over a variety of themes (temas) and contexts (contextos). Some of these topics will include introductions and greetings, describing people, going to the store, asking basic questions, going on vacation, etc.

The textbook, ¡Adelante! Uno 2nd ed., will provide a solid basis of vocabulary, conversational and structural exercises, and informative grammar explanations. However, classes will not be based solely on the textbook but will incorporate music, readings, films/videos, skits, and other activities to make the classroom environment and material more interesting, applicable, and relevant. By the end of this course, participants should be able to express themselves confidently in Spanish and be able to apply to their daily lives what they have learned.

To register and for more information, go to the event website. A detailed description of each of the 10 sessions is on this website.
