Society of Scholars nominations due tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 28

The society—the first of its kind in the nation—honors individuals who completed their graduate, postdoctoral, professional, or performance training at Johns Hopkins but are not currently affiliated, and who have achieved marked professional or scholarly distinction in their fields.

The nomination period for induction into the Society of Scholars closes tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 28.

INSTRUCTIONS | After verifying the eligibility of prospective inductees with the appropriate registrar or academic division, Johns Hopkins faculty may initiate the inductee nomination process by emailing SocietyofScholars@jhu.edu with the following details:

  • Nominator Name, Division/School, Email Address
  • Nominee Name, JHU Affiliation (Division/School & Department)

Nominators will be granted access to the nomination submission system for completion, to include these required materials:

  • List of ≤ five of the nominee's major publications, awards, performances, recordings, and other significant achievements by the nominee, subsequent to the nominee's training at JHU
  • Nominator's Statement of Support (limit 200 words) highlighting the nominee's major contributions to their field. Should the nominee be elected into the Society of Scholars, this statement may be used in part or in its entirety in the Society of Scholars Induction Ceremony Program and/or other materials.
