Applications to audition for HSO's biennial Concerto Competition are due this Friday, Dec. 17. The competition Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, in Shriver Hall.
The HSO Concerto Competition provides the opportunity for JHU nonmusic majors to further their musical studies, gain experience preparing an audition for professional musicians, and receive public recognition for their work. Applicants may choose to compete with an entire concerto or solo, with selected movements of a concerto, or with an aria (vocalists). A winner(s) will be selected by a panel of professional musicians to perform their work alongside Hopkins Symphony Orchestra or Hopkins Concert Orchestra on an upcoming performance.
