As part of the Mellon Foundation's Humanities for All grant, the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences has funding to support a graduate student guest lecture series for Maryland community college students. A $500 honorarium will be given to selected PhD students to present virtual talks, 30 to 45 minutes long, in their area of specialty this spring. The talk should be accessible to an introductory humanities student at a two-year university (talks will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A). The goal is for community college students to have increased exposure to the breadth of work done in the humanities. Graduate students will also benefit from tailoring their research for a community college student audience to expand their professional development.
