Grants up to $5K available for JHU electric vehicle purchases

The JHU Green Fleet Working Group of the Sustainability Leadership Council is offering grants up to $5,000 for hybrid and electric vehicle purchases in university departments, as an incentive over gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles.

A total of up to $50,000 will be awarded in FY22 (the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022). Grants are available in two amounts:

  • $5,000 per vehicle purchased by JHU that is fully electric (EV)
  • $4,000 per vehicle purchased by JHU that is hybrid electric

In order to be eligible for a grant, vehicles must be registered and titled by Johns Hopkins University during the fiscal year. Given the limited funds available, individual departments are limited to a maximum of $12,000 in grant awards. Awards will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Procurement and Transportation Services will review requests within five days of submission, with support from the Green Fleet Team as needed.

More information, including a list of eligible vehicles, is available on the Transportation Services website.
