In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic magnified existing societal inequities across marginalized groups; an increased awareness of targeted violence galvanized communities around social justice; and legislation aimed at restricting well-earned civil rights demonstrated that the struggle for equal rights continues. The theme of the 2021 DLC Conference is Awakening to Action representing a call to action for the presenters and attendees to transform the momentum of 2020 into sustained action.
