Register for HRH's Lunch & Learn, Part 2: Turn Plarn Into a Reusable Bag

Register here to join Homewood Recycling's Hop Reuse Hub team at noon on Friday, April 16, for the second part of our spring Lunch & Learn series. We will teach you how to use plastic bags to make a reusable produce bag!

This is a two-part event. During the first lunchtime event on March 26, we taught attendees how to use disposable plastic bags to make plarn (aka plastic yarn)! During the second lunchtime event on April 16, we will teach you how to use the plarn to make a reusable produce bag.

  • To participate in the event on April 16, all you need is a ball of plarn (plastic yarn made of approximately 4-6 plastic disposable bags).

  • If you did not attend the March 26 event but wish to learn how to use plarn to make a reusable produce net bag, register for the April 16 event via this form. All event registrants will receive the recording from the first event so they can make plarn before the event on April 16.

  • If you registered for the first event, you do not need to register for the April 16 event; you should have received a calendar invite via email.

During both events we will also chat about the importance of reduction and reuse as well as the Baltimore City plastic bag ban and extended producer responsibility (EPR).

You must register to receive the Zoom link. Please contact recycling@jhu.edu with questions.
