Call for proposals: JHU Gender and Racial Justice Scholars Awards

JHU's Women's Suffrage Centennial Commemoration invites proposals from across JHU for Gender and Racial Justice Scholars Awards. While the 19th Amendment barred states from denying voting rights based on sex, it failed to address the broad disenfranchisement of large numbers of Americans—most notably Black Americans. These awards will support student research on structural inequalities related to gender and race to help us understand our history and promote democracy, inclusion, and empowerment.

You can learn more about the awards by visiting JHU's Women's Suffrage Centennial Commemoration website. The deadline to submit proposals (including completed letters of recommendation) is 5 p.m. ET on Friday, March 26.

There will be an information session from noon to 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 22. If you have any questions or wish to receive the Zoom link for the information session, email womensvote100@jhu.edu.
