IDIES' Seed Funding Program and Summer Student Fellowship Program are open for applications.
The goal of the SFP is to provide seed funding for data-intensive computing projects that involve data science and data-intensive techniques and analysis as part of the core research, have multidisciplinary teams (the PI team must represent a minimum of two departments), and build ideas and teams with good prospects for successful proposals to attract external research support by leveraging IDIES intellectual and physical infrastructure.
The Summer Student Fellowship Program will offer awards to support a summer research project led by undergraduate students with the guidance of an IDIES faculty member mentor. These projects are meant to provide an opportunity for students to participate in a 10-week (June to August) full-time data science–focused research project in collaboration with an IDIES faculty member.
The deadline for proposals on both programs is 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31. Awards will be announced in early April.
