Are you registered and ready for the 2020 election? Do you have a plan to vote that includes how, when, and where you will cast your ballot?
This week marks Voter Registration Week at Johns Hopkins, with efforts ramping up across the institution to ensure that eligible voters are registered and prepared to participate in the election. You are encouraged to use TurboVote to register or verify registration information, request an absentee ballot, identify your polling place, and sign up for deadline reminders. Additionally, all eligible voters are urged to take a moment to finalize their voting plans.
Hopkins Votes, a nonpartisan initiative, also offers election information, guidance, and direct assistance to Hopkins faculty, staff, and students, as well as the wider community. Hopkins Votes staff and volunteers host virtual voter registration office hours from noon to 2 p.m. EST every Tuesday in September. There, Hopkins Votes student ambassadors will help guide individuals through the registration process, requesting an absentee ballot, or acquiring the ID required to vote in their state.
