Facilities Management will be conducting a steam outage for the Homewood campus beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, and concluding by noon on Saturday, Aug. 8. The outage will affect all buildings on the main campus except the San Martin Building, Olin Hall, and buildings east of Charles Street.
Besides its more obvious uses for heating and sterilization, steam is used to generate domestic hot water in most buildings; therefore, affected buildings will be without domestic hot water during the outage.
This outage is necessary in order to perform regular maintenance on the main steam system serving the Homewood campus. We apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.
