A little about the program…

Mission: The Student Philanthropy Association involves undergraduates in conversations and education regarding the impact of alumni support and philanthropy. Through engaging programs and the Senior Class Giving Campaign, we aim to create a philanthropic undergraduate community that is poised to continue to support the Hopkins undergraduate community as alumni.

Key responsibilities: Educate the student body about the impact and need for donations through peer-to-peer outreach including events, email, and social media; volunteer with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, including Giving Days, Reunion, Young Alumni Weekend, and stewarding donors; solicit seniors for donations as part of the Senior Class Giving Campaign; and more.

Who can apply: Any year student (except grad) who is interested in showing their peers the impact philanthropy has on their Hopkins experience and a desire to help fundraise for student groups and initiatives.

What we are looking for: The Student Philanthropy Association is a group that works together toward the common goal of improving the student experience by volunteering and soliciting for donations. We are looking for people who have the desire to help others; the ability to manage their time in order to complete necessary task items by deadlines; a team player that can work collaboratively toward goals; must be comfortable asking friends and strangers for donations.

Some benefits to being a member: the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference; interaction with university leadership; connections with alumni; constituent engagement and nonprofit management experience; behind-the-scenes access to university events; volunteering experience.
