Participants with driver's license needed for fMRI driving research study

Participants, who must be ages 16 to 21, will watch driving videos in the scanner while having heart rate and skin conductance measured. They will also complete questionnaires and two computer games outside the scanner. The total study time is one three-hour visit (scan time 55 minutes) to the East Baltimore campus. Compensation is a $50 Amazon gift card.

Participant eligibility includes:

  • Novice group: Have a learner's permit
  • Experienced group: Have driver's license for at least two years; driven more than 3,000 miles in the last 12 months
  • All participants: No mental or behavioral disorders and no contraindications to an MRI, such as metal braces or a pacemaker
