Student fundraisers contact alumni, parents, and friends of Johns Hopkins University and ask for their support of the JHU Annual Fund. The Annual Fund provides support for many things around campus including scholarships and financial aid, library resources, faculty recruitment and retention, and classroom and laboratory equipment (to name a few). Student fundraisers play an important role in improving the campus for each JHU student.
Basic duties include:
- Contacting alumni and parents via telephone to help them stay connected with the Johns Hopkins University and ask for monetary support
- Presenting a positive image of the university by being a reflection of the university's mission at all times
Student fundraisers are required to work a minimum of three 3.25-hour shifts (9.75 hours) per week but can work more if time permits them to do so. Calling shifts are held on Sunday, from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. and 5 to 8:15 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, from 5:45 to 9 p.m.; and Friday, from 3:45 to 7 p.m.
