Young drivers needed for a driving research fMRI study

Participants ages 16 to 21 will watch driving videos in the scanner while having heart rate and skin conductance measured. Additionally, participants will complete questionnaires and two computer games outside the scanner. The total study time is one 3.5 hour visit to the East Baltimore campus. Scan time is 55 minutes. Compensation is a $50 Amazon gift card.

Participant eligibility includes:

  • Novice group: Volunteers have a learner's permit and have driven less than 1,000 miles, total.
  • Experienced group: Volunteers have had a driver's license for at least two years and driven more than 3,000 miles in the last 12 months.

All participants: No mental or behavioral disorders, and no contraindications to an MRI, for example, metal braces or pacemaker
