Drivers needed for fMRI research study

Participants, ages 16 to 21, will watch driving videos in the scanner while having heart rate and skin conductance measured. Additionally, participants will complete questionnaires and two computer games outside the scanner. The total study time is one 3.5-hour (scan time 55 minutes) visit to the East Baltimore campus. Compensation is a $50 Amazon gift card.

Participant eligibility includes:

  • Novice group: Have a learner's permit and driven less than 1,000 miles, total.
  • Experienced group: Have driver's license for at least two years, driven more than 3,000 miles in the last 12 months.
  • All participants: No mental or behavioral disorders, and no contraindications to an MRI (example: metal braces or pacemaker).
