Nominations open for Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Service

The deadline to nominate members of the Johns Hopkins community for the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Service has been extended to Friday, Oct. 18. The award recognizes outstanding commitment to volunteer service by faculty, staff, graduate students, and retirees of the Johns Hopkins University and Health System.

The community service must have been completed during 2019 and should not be a part of the individual's duties at Johns Hopkins.

You may review the information with the nominee to ensure that you have the most accurate information regarding his or her volunteer work and its impact.

Community Service Awards will be presented at the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Celebration on Jan. 17, 2020, to those individuals who demonstrate the same spirit of volunteerism, citizenship, and activism that characterized the life of Dr. King.
