Get Ready for JHU Annual Enrollment with benefits fairs and town halls

Annual Benefits Enrollment for Johns Hopkins University faculty, staff, and bargaining unit members is just around the corner; it runs from October 16 through November 1.

Begin your preparation for 2020 annual enrollment by attending a Benefits & Worklife Fair on Monday, Oct. 7, at the Turner Concourse in East Baltimore or Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the Glass Pavilion at Homewood. Both fairs will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet representatives from our benefit providers and various JHU departments to learn more about the plans and programs they offer. While at the fair, take time to participate in various wellness activities such as a biometric screening for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, and body mass index as well as a pre-diabetes risk assessment. Enjoy a relaxing seated massage or stop by the trail mix station for a healthy snack before returning to work. With over 40 exhibitors, you will walk away with tons of information and many fun giveaways.

Over the coming weeks, the Benefits staff will also be holding numerous town hall events to help you understand the upcoming benefits changes and to answer your questions. A schedule of town hall events is available online. Be sure to attend a presentation near you to hear what's new for 2020 including the addition of a High Deductible Health Plan medical option paired with a Health Savings Account, and a new vendor to administer our flexible spending accounts/commuter benefits. If unable to attend an in-person event, the Benefits Service Center will be hosting several live webinars.

Now is the time to explore the various options available to you so you can make SMART benefit choices for the coming year.
