A lecture and field excursion by a self-proclaimed "Beer (history) Nut," for lovers of history and of fine ale. The seminar will present brewing and beer drinking history, from 10,000 B.C. through Prohibition and up to the current Craft Beer Revolution, offering anecdotes and reflections on significant developments in the global story of beer, along with some brief Baltimore brewing history. A Saturday field trip offers a guided tour through significant locations of Baltimore brewing history. We will nosh and sample beers along the way. Enrollment limited to 20.
