Changes to Blue Jay Shuttle evening routes and Night Ride service

Blue Jay Shuttle's evening and Night Ride services are undergoing many changes for the fall semester. Starting on Sunday, Aug. 25, the Blue and Pink routes are being combined into the Homewood Route, which will serve Brody Learning Commons, Mason Hall, the Giant at Tower Square on West 41st Street, and numerous apartment complexes and other locations north and east of Homewood campus. The route will depart from Brody Learning Commons every half-hour from 6 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. Certain locations no longer served by fixed-route service will still be readily accessible by our Night Ride service, whose boundaries are not changing for the fall.

The Brody Shuffle will increase in frequency starting Sunday, Aug. 25, as well. The first Brody Shuffle departure will occur at 5:40 p.m., followed by departures at :10, :20, :40, and :50 after each hour until 11:50 p.m. At midnight the frequency becomes every 15 minutes at :00, :15, :30, and :45 after each hour, with the final departure occurring at 3:30 a.m. When combined with the Homewood Route, this means that a Blue Jay Shuttle departs Brody every 10 minutes from 5:40 p.m. until midnight, and every 15 minutes thereafter until 3:30 a.m.

As of this past week, Blue Jay Shuttle is providing Night Ride service for the Peabody Institute from 6 p.m. until 3:45 a.m. Detailed information about this service is available on the Escort Van Service page of the Peabody website.

Also, TransLoc is rolling out a new app for bus tracking and Night Ride service requests. Among other improvements, the new system will alert riders to the status of their trips via push notifications rather than text messages (though rides referred to Lyft during high demand will still receive status updates via text). Support for the "Rider" app will be continued for the time being, but we encourage all passengers to upgrade to the new app as soon as possible. It can be found at the Google Play or the iPhone App Store, or online.
