Driving Hazards Research Study seeks people ages 16-20 with learner's permit

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 16 and 20
  • Hold a valid learner's permit and have driven less than 1,000 miles as assessed by self-reported mileage
  • Speak English fluently

Exclusionary criteria (reasons you would not be a good fit for the study):

  • A history of neurologic disorder (e.g., epilepsy, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, Tourette syndrome)
  • A history of visual impairment that cannot be fixed with contact lenses or glasses
  • The presence of psychiatric illness or neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Been in a major car accident that required hospitalization within the last six months

If you agree to join this study, in addition to watching the videos, you will be asked to answer questions on a computer about yourself and your driving habits. In a face-to-face interview, you will be asked some questions about your behaviors, attention, and mood. You will also be asked to play two computer games. Everything will be done in one visit and will take about 2.5 hours. You will be compensated with a $50 Amazon gift card.
