The National Aquarium is partnering with Baltimore City Public Schools to provide a meaningful watershed education experience for middle school students. In the classroom, students will complete a pre-lesson led by their teachers introducing the concept of a watershed and the different species that could occupy the Chesapeake Bay. The National Aquarium is looking for interns to lead instruction at the National Aquarium's waterfront campus when the middle school students come to test the water quality (i.e. dissolved oxygen, salinity, temperature, etc.) of the Inner Harbor. Students complete the experience by doing an action project in their school community to bring awareness to the issues surrounding the Inner Harbor and/or Chesapeake Bay. Feel free to watch a video (https://vimeo.com/270494804) of one school's field investigation from this past spring. To volunteer, please reach out to SyJohnson@aqua.org.
