We are a research study that is trying to learn more about the risks for developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes based on ancestry. The Charisma study is actively enrolling individuals who are:
- 12-21 years old
- of South Asian, African-American, or Caucasian ancestry
- considered to have excess weight based on height and age
All participants who complete the study will receive $400 compensation.
The study involves two half-day visits to Johns Hopkins Children's Center for various minimal risk procedures. There are also three phone calls asking about your dietary intake over the previous day.
