In this foundation course, students will concentrate on the basics of using their DSLR cameras, focusing on exposure and composition in the field, Lightroom and Photoshop in the lab. In the process they will flex their creative muscles and develop a personal style. The class covers landscape photography, the portrait, high dynamic range, panorama, and the beauty of black and white photography. One session will be in the field, exploring the Station North area as well as the Jones Falls and Streetcar Museum. An optional weekend field trip to Assateague and Chincoteague islands enhances the experience. Classes will be held in the Center for Visual Arts digital lab on the Homewood campus. Enrollment is limited, so register early!
