Compost your pumpkins

Bring your pumpkins to the Homewood Recycling Office located at Wyman Building 3 (behind the main Wyman Park Building) on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. They must be delivered in a paper or green compostable bag. Place them in one of the two blue bins marked for pumpkins outside the office. Be sure they are empty and not painted.

Composting reduces greenhouse gas emissions and when applied to the land reduces the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It also decreases erosion and storm water runoff, which is good for the Chesapeake Bay.
