HopHacks, our biannual 36-hour hackathon, will be taking place from Friday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Sept. 16. Come for a fun weekend of bringing software/hardware ideas to life, learning new skills, & free food.
HopHacks encourages students of all backgrounds, disciplines, and experience levels to apply. Workshops will be available to teach fundamental skills, and teams of up to four students can elect to compete for a grand prize of $1,024, a second place prize of $512, or a third place prize of $256. Additionally, representatives from top companies such as Google, Bloomberg, JP Morgan Chase, and more will be present to help students with their projects or to talk about potential job opportunities.
This year, HopHacks is hosting a Civic Hack theme in a collaboration with BCIT, MICA, and Lutece. Participants will be encouraged to use Lutece and local data sources to build solutions to some of the most pressing problems that Baltimore City Council Members have identified, and compete for a special prize.
