Odyssey: Explore the Treasures of Evergreen—The John W. Garrett Mansion

Evergreen House, today owned by the Johns Hopkins University, was once the home of the influential Garrett family. It is now a house museum, called Evergreen Museum & Library, displaying the important collections assembled by the Garretts over several generations. The first lecture focuses on the lives of Alice and John Garrett, the last of the family to make Evergreen their home. The next lectures introduce the works of art assembled by John and Alice and include discussions of the artists most admired by them, and who in several ways influenced their taste and artistic preferences. The last lecture is scheduled at Evergreen (4545 North Charles St.),where Bodil Ottesen will give a tour of the house and discuss the intriguing and interesting architecture and elegant interior.
