Please be advised that Facilities Management will be conducting a steam outage for the Homewood campus beginning Friday, Aug. 10. The outage will begin at 7 p.m. and last approximately 10-12 hours. Steam service should resume by 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug 11. The outage will affect all buildings on the main campus with the exceptions of the San Martin Building, Olin Hall, and buildings east of Charles Street.
Besides its more obvious uses for heating and sterilization, steam is also used to generate domestic hot water in most buildings; therefore, affected buildings will be without domestic hot water during the outage.
This outage is necessary in order to perform regular maintenance on the main steam system serving the Homewood campus. Facilities Management apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause.
