The 2018 seed funding program, with grants of up to $25,000 for one year, are available for projects related to such fields as robotics, astronaut health, planetary sciences, solar physics, Earth science, spacecraft engineering, sensors, astrophysics, and projects related to civil space.
The proposed work must be relevant to Space@Hopkins and JHU institutional research priorities, provide undergraduate research opportunities, and have good prospects for leading to successful external research support. Preference will also be given to interdisciplinary work, and the Space@Hopkins team is happy to help principal investigators by finding a compatible research collaborator from another department or division within the university and by helping to connect research groups with undergraduates. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 18. This seed grant cycle will begin and conclude in September 2018 and 2019, respectively.
