The Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute has partnered with Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) to create extreme arts workshops. The workshops, geared towards the non-artist, are free and open to Johns Hopkins University students. The goal is to foster crossdisciplinary thinking and collaboration through hands-on demonstrations.
This workshop will introduce types of powerful, data-driven visual narratives in growing demand across industries and disciplines. Through a mixture of hands-on exercises, discussion and sharing, attendees will be equipped with data and design strategies to create compelling visual stories. This workshop will specifically explore methods of pairing quantitative and qualitative data as we begin to measure abstract concepts like knowledge and collaboration.
