Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Affairs Gap Year Internship 2018-2019

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Affairs Internship is a yearlong, paid, full-time position aimed at highly motivated individuals who are pursuing a career in medicine and are looking for a gap-year opportunity. The internship is designed to provide aspiring physician leaders with a comprehensive learning experience at a premier academic health system.

The intern will be exposed to hospital operations and leadership through administrative support to Medical Affairs subcommittees such as The House Staff Council, The Ethics Consultation Service, and The Influenza Prevention Taskforce. Furthermore, the intern will serve as a project coordinator on a specific project during their internship. Project opportunities will vary and reflect both the participant's learning goals and the priorities of The Medical Affairs Office. Candidates will also have the opportunity to attend senior leadership meetings throughout Johns Hopkins Medicine and gain exposure to various health system functions. Prior to beginning, the selected intern will finalize goals, expectations, and evaluation criteria with the Sr. Vice President of Medical Affairs and the Internship Program Manager.
