Volunteers needed for mock interviews: Dunbar Hopkins Health Partnership

Volunteers are needed to participate on mock interview panels to help Paul Laurence Dunbar High School juniors prepare for their scholarship interview for the Henrietta Lacks Health Sciences Scholarship. Panels are scheduled in two-hour increments from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, March 19 and 20.

We are hoping to have at least three panelists per session. Each session will start with a quick briefing, followed by three individual interviews lasting about 30 minutes each, and then 10-15 minutes of feedback to the student.

Please RSVP by completing the Lacks Scholarship/Mock Interviews form.

If you have questions, please contact Susan Flora, Dunbar Hopkins Health Partnership program manager, at sflora3@jhu.edu.

Hopkins Medicine sponsors the Henrietta Lacks Scholarship to honor her life, contributions to science and medicine, and her family's legacy. The Henrietta Lacks Scholarship awards up to $10,000 annually, per year for four years, to a Paul Laurence Dunbar High School student who enrolls in a four-year accredited post-secondary institution for the purpose of supporting tuition, required fees, books, and room and board.

This year, 19 Dunbar juniors are still contending for the scholarship. Of the 19, no more than 12 will be selected for an interview panel with representatives from across the Hopkins institutions. Please help us make sure that the Dunbar Poets shine!
